Following today’s Market Growth Monitor publication, the ALMR has welcomed the continued expansion of food-led businesses in the UK.
The figures, produced by AlixPartners and CGA Peach, show growth among food-led businesses, correlating with the ALMR’s Future Shock report, published earlier this year.
ALMR Chief Executive Kate Nicholls said: “The figures highlight the changing attitudes of younger customers placing greater emphasis on food options and a shift towards food-led businesses.
“Future Shock also showed this fundamental shift in the way many customers approach their night’s out, and the growth in food-led businesses shows that this is an innovative sector ready and willing to change with the times and lead the way with new concepts and trends.
“There appears to be a slowing-down in the rate of closures and signs of growth on the high street. Licensing hospitality, and branded eating-out venues in particular, have been integral drivers of growth throughout the UK. Continued competition and growth in the eating-out market is good for the UK economy and the growth in food-led businesses is encouraging for licensed hospitality.”
