Marcello Distefano is the managing director of the fast growing, award-winning San Carlo Italian restaurant group. Established in 1992, the group is really well known for being an authentic Italian restaurant brand with the focus on service, food and ambience.
Prior to asking GS to provide its EPOS solution, San Carlo was very much a paper based company with the restaurants run individually. Marcello and his team wanted to centralise information and take greater control of the business through EPOS.
Procedures embedded around the solution
The challenge for the business was to adopt new technology and ensure the team received the necessary levels of training to successfully implement the system and the procedures embedded around it.
GS adapted the solution to suit the needs of San Carlo, working in close partnership with the senior management team.
Having installed the point of sale systems, GS is now adding reports and business intelligence to give the business real time information on a daily basis to allow it to move a lot quicker than it ever could before.
The return on investment has impacted on the bottom line, with savings across the board, says Marcello.
