Restaurant openings in Manchester are outstripping London with the city recording the UK’s fastest rate of growth in food businesses over the last decade. The number of restaurants, gastropubs and cafe bars has shot up by 57 per cent compared with the capital, where they rose by 32 per cent, according to figures released by organisers of next week’s Northern Restaurant and Bar show, which runs from 17-18 March.
