The ALMR has today written to Members of Parliament highlighting the contribution licensed retail makes to their constituencies.
The letter contains key statistical data on the number and type of licensed retail outlets in their constituency and provides a breakdown of employment statistics bespoke to each MP.
ALMR Chief Executive, Kate Nicholls said: “With Small Business Saturday taking place this weekend, we are keen to let all Members of Parliament know what a valuable contribution the licensed retail sector makes to their constituencies.
“We have provided each Member of Parliament with a breakdown of the of the licensed retail landscape in their constituencies to highlight what great cultural, social and economic assets these venues are.
“About 75% of the sector is made up small and medium-sized enterprises; we are a sector of entrepreneurs sustaining jobs and investment in local communities across the country.
“Not only are we encouraging MPs to visit their locals this Saturday, by contacting them now we are ensuring that licensed hospitality is firmly in the minds of politicians as we move toward next year’s General Election.
