New appointments as GS plans expansion

with No Comments

EPOS specialists GS Systems has made three key new appointments as part of a four year business plan to rapidly grow the independent IT consultancy and technology provider.  All three appointments combine IT and EPOS skills with practical first hand experience of the hospitality and retail sectors.

Business development managers Mike Chung (pictured right above) and Ryan Lowry (centre) have the brief to look after the needs of current hospitality and retail clients and develop new relationships with prospective customers.  EPOS project manager Andrew Elliott (left) will be responsible for overseeing planning and implementing EPOS installations and on-going support for an expanding client portfolio that includes the San Carlo Restaurant Group, Baa Bar, Living Ventures and Timpson.

A graduate with a 2.1 (hons) in BSc Product Design and Development from the University of Salford, Mike was an O2 learning and development manager responsible for the coaching and the performance management of 64 trainers before becoming a manager at the Oddest Bar in Chorlton, one of three pubs run by the Odd Bars Ltd in Manchester.

Ryan Lowry was a general manager at King Henrys Taverns, where his responsibilities included hands on administration and management of any of the half dozen pubs in the group. As well as managing up to 25 staff per pub, he was responsible for office systems, cash handling and payroll, stock control, minimising wastage, and losses and dealing with suppliers.

Project manager Andrew Elliott worked in both the hospitality and retail sectors before specialising in IT. His extensive EPOS experience includes working with the likes of JW Lees, Joseph Holts, Samuel Smiths,  Oxfam and the RSPCA.

“Andrew, Mike and Ryan all have backgrounds within the hospitality and retail sectors so they have first hand experience of the challenges faced by our clients and prospective clients on a daily basis,” said GS Systems managing director Niels Nielsen.

“This sector knowledge combined with their IT skills is integral to the GS proposition and ensures we add value to every relationship with our clients. We not only understand the technology but also, critically, its context in busy, hectic hospitality and retail environments. We can be much more effective as a business if our team readily identifies with the issues clients face on a regular basis. It helps set us apart from our competitors.”

GS Systems has been at the forefront of the EPOS industry for four decades and is planning to rapidly expand its technology business over the next four years.

“There has never been a more exciting time to be involved with the EPOS industry as the current technology influences and drives all aspects of a business from cash and stock control to marketing to understanding the buying habits of customers. We’re looking forward to the challenge of leading the industry from the front as usual,” said Niels.
