Baa Bar commissions GS EPOS as chain expands

GS Systems has installed a comprehensive EPOS system to give the fast-expanding Baa Bar Group greater operational and financial control over its growing business.

The iconic bar firm, Baa Bar Group Ltd, currently celebrating 21 years successful trading, commissioned the independent EPOS specialist to provide over 70 EPOS touchscreen terminals and a head office central management solution for the 10-strong multiple chain.

Baa Bar CEO Elaine Clarke looking forward to full transparency and cost/stock controls across the chain.

“Our solution satisfies all of the Baa Bar senior management team’s objectives. Fast and easy to use terminals ensure staff can serve customers quickly and accurately. They are also reliable, resilient and robust to cope with busy, crowded late night bar environments,” said Niels Nielsen, GS Systems managing director.

“At the same time, Baa Bar wants the flexibility of multiple price and discount levels so changes to customers’ offers can be made in real-time with the minimum of fuss.”

“As part of our consultative approach to EPOS, we’re helping the team introduce watertight procedures across all sites and at head office to accurately record wastage and all other stock movements.”

“This gives Baa Bar a full audit trail and asset accountability. Part of this process includes creating and implementing a series of electronic business reports to improve cash and stock reconciliation. The Baa Bar management team can see how the business is performing in real-time on a unit basis and as a multiple chain whenever they want.”

“One of the features of our specified EPOS system, built around Toshiba A10 EPOS terminals and a GS systems cloud-based EPOS and central management solution, is the fact it can easily be developed to meet Baa Bar’s future requirements. For example, we’ve fitted card swipes to the terminals so customers can redeem gift cards. This facility gives Baa Bar the option of adding a complete customer loyalty package at a later date,” said Niels Nielsen.“The system installed by GS will give us full transparency and cost/stock controls across the chain, essential requirements as we look to expand the brand over the next five years,” said Elaine Clarke, Baa Bar’s chief executive officer.

“Throughout the process we’ve been impressed by the GS team’s knowledge, their understanding of the hospitality sector and the realistic perspective they have adopted.”

The iconic bar brand commissioned 70 EPOS touchscreen terminals and a head office central management solution for the 10-strong chain.
