The ALMR has made its submission to the Government’s consultation on the terms of reference to its business rates review. The submission highlights the burden currently being shouldered by licensed hospitality businesses and calls for the Government to act to end this unfairness. The ALMR has also urged the Government to take into account turnover when valuing businesses, taking into account online retailers and reforming a system that penalises successful pubs and bars.
