ALMR runs marketing workshop 30 June 2016

The ALMR is running a free marketing workshop for operator members at the Forge, London, on 30 June 2016.

The half day workshop with lunch features leading industry experts talking about effective marketing and communications including operator case studies.

Delegates will be able to understand how to measure marketing effectiveness; create successful PR; maximise your social media relevance; keep within the licensing laws on drinks promotions and marketing; and use technology to increase sales and profitability.

James Hacon, Brand and Strategy Consultant and Workshop Chairman

Sector brand and marketing specialist James Hacon talks about the ways restaurant and bar marketing professionals can measure the effectiveness of the activity they undertake considering the particular metrics you can be monitoring and how.

1015 – Delivering Successful PR

Ros Shiel and John Porter, ShielPorter Communications

Ros Shiel and John Porter of hospitality PR specialist ShielPorter Communications present a case study on their work with managed pub and bar group TCG. The presentation will look at the role of a structured PR programme in establishing and maintaining the reputation of a hospitality business – including the importance of allowing for flexibility to maximise PR opportunities. Internal communications, local PR and crisis management will also be included.

1050 – The Art of Social Media

Andrew McGregor, One Media Solutions

Andrew McGregor of One Media Solutions, an online marketing agency working in the sector, will share what makes relevant consumer engagement, the relative merits of different social media platforms and what a comprehensive social media programme should incorporate. Andrew will also use a case study from Amber Taverns to illustrate effective campaigns.

Kate Nicholls, CEO, ALMR

Kate will discuss the risks of irresponsible drinks promotions by marketing responsibly to boost sales and avoiding facing a review of your premises licence.
