Everything you need to know about Manchester Oktoberfest 2014

Manchester welcomes Oktoberfest to the city for first time for a massive FREE five day celebration of beer, food, music and then probably more beer, starting Wednesday 22 October 2014.  Based on the Munich celebration of the same name, which has been a main event in the city for 200 years, the Manchester version follows the traditional celebration which has now been adopted in countries all over the world, writes the Manchester Evening News.

Traditionally a celebration of the gathering of the harvest, Albert Square will be transformed into an 1800 seater tent, decorated in the traditional blue and white, with waitresses and waiters dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen.
