A GIANT steel tree forms the spectacular centrepiece of glitzy new bar and restaurant Sakana taking shape in Manchester city centre. The owners, who have also commissioned GS Systems to provide the EPOS and technology services, are lavishing over £1m on the interiors for the new pan-Asian eatery, with the six metre high metal tree at the heart of the split level venue. The Japanese maple, which will light up, was designed by local artist Sarah Gallagher-Hayes, while Japanese artist Masako has also been commissioned to create a set of contemporary artworks for the whitewashed walls too.
