The Manchester Food & Drink Festival will be held in the city from 29th September – 10th October 2016.
MFDF 2016 is Manchester’s 19th celebration of eating and drinking and a full programme will be announced in the next couple of weeks. This will include the return of the Festival Hub to Albert Square and the MFDF Gala Dinner and Awards.
“Its great to see Manchester continually named in lists of the best places to live in the UK and to be recognised on the global stage,” said Phil Jones, the festival’s founder. “Our world-class food and drink community is a major reason for that. It’s incredible to think how far Manchester’s gastronomic offer has come since the first festival almost 20 years ago. The 2016 event will be a celebration of Manchester’s great food scene and the people who make it what it is.”
Last year over 90,000 people visited the 2015 Festival Hub in Albert Square with 48 eventstaking place at other venues across the city as part of the Fringe Festival. Two hundred local restaurants, bars and businesses backed the festival and 12 award winners picked up gongs at the annual awards dinner.
